Privacy
The short version: no accounts, no ads, no tracking cookies, and we never sell or share your information. If you send feedback, we only use it to improve the site.
What we don’t do
We don’t ask you to sign up. We don’t show ads. We don’t use analytics or tracking cookies, and we don’t load trackers from other companies. We don’t sell or share personal information, as those words are used in California and other state privacy laws.
What happens when you visit
Like every website, our hosting company (Cloudflare) briefly handles basic technical details, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for, to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. We use this only to keep the site running and safe.
Our fonts are served from this site, so your browser does not contact Google or other font companies.
What is saved on your device
If you pick light or dark mode, your browser remembers that choice on your device. If you pick a different season on the home page, your browser remembers it until you close the tab. You can clear both at any time in your browser settings. Neither one is used to track you.
The site owner’s admin login uses one cookie. Visitors never get it.
Searches, sharing and “Read it to me”
What you type in the search box is used only to show you results; we don’t keep a history of it.
Share images and GIFs are made right on your device. “Read it to me” uses the voice built into your device or browser, which may follow its maker’s own privacy policy.
If you send us feedback
The feedback form emails us what you type: your message, the page you mention, and your email address if you choose to add one. We use it only to improve the site and to reply to you, and we delete it when it’s no longer needed. Please don’t include private details like account or ID numbers.
Children
This site is meant for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights, wherever you live
Because we keep almost nothing about visitors, there is usually nothing to look up. Still, under laws like the GDPR in Europe and the UK, and state laws in the US, you can ask what we have, ask us to delete it, or ask a question. Email hello@explained.page and we’ll answer within 30 days. If you live in Europe or the UK, you can also contact your local data protection authority.
Changes
If we ever add something new, like visitor statistics, we’ll update this page first, and ask for your permission where the law requires it.
